I've reviewed thousands of applications and personally conducted more than 1,000 interviews—from graduate programs to executive appointments.
What struck me throughout my career was how often talented people failed to convert. Not because they lacked capability, but because they didn't understand what I was actually evaluating. They answered questions without demonstrating value. Their CVs buried achievements in generic descriptions. They didn't know how to articulate why them over the other candidates in the final shortlist.
